Barrow Bay, Ontario sits on the Bruce Peninsula, covering all shores of Little Lake and the western shore of Georgian Bay south of Lion’s Head in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.
Where we are
A small man-made channel joins Little Lake to Georgian Bay. That cut of water is why fishing boats and pleasure craft can travel from a sheltered inland lake out onto one of the Great Lakes. It is also why dredging and channel restoration sit at the centre of association life.
The community is approximately 85% seasonal cottagers and 15% permanent residents. Almost all households belong to the Barrow Bay Property Owners’ Association. Closest shops, fuel, and services are in Lion’s Head, a short drive north.
Shores and neighbourhoods
BBPOA represents Barrow Bay Proper, the north, south, and west shores of Little Lake, Channel Road, McKague Road, County Road 9, and surrounding roads. Five Directors on the Executive each speak for a different shore so every neighbourhood has a voice at the table.
Living here — residents, visitors, and landlords
Residents (seasonal and year-round) use BBPOA for minutes, newsletters, membership, and a say in channel work. Visitors and renters will find public information on the lake, safety, and how the community is organized. Landlords can stay current on dues, AGM packages, and property-related notices even when they are not on the bay.
Please treat the lake as the hidden gem it is: modest wakes near shore, care with septic systems, and respect for loons and other wildlife during nesting season.
